In honour of Annemarie, a beloved wife, mum and Oma, and in supporting the prevention of women being affected by the disease, we will be making a donation to the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity, Ovarian Cancer Action.
In the UK, around 7,500 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, but over 50% of those are often diagnosed at an advanced stage when survival and the success of treatment is at its lowest. That’s why Ovarian Cancer Action is “supercharging the science around detection, diagnosis and treatments” to save lives by attacking the problem at every level; from developing better treatments so women with the disease can live longer, to developing a screening tool to ensure it is caught in its earliest stage.
For Annemarie, had the science been available to her, early detection may have prevented the cancer spreading to her peritoneal and having to manage a terminal illness.
Thank you for your consideration in making a donation and a difference.
In everlasting memory.
